ABOUT

Mitrani Art is a unique lens-based non-profit organization in Miami dedicated to the cultivation of photography and new media for artists, students and members of our diverse community.

Offering multi-use galleries, a library, shared studios and exterior courtyards, the building will host exhibitions, screenings, art talks, workshops and cultural events. We believe that fine art photography, film and video art are inclusive mediums with a distinct ability to shape emotions, convey stories and effect change.

In 2013 Rhonda Mitrani opened The Screening Room, a new-media exhibition and project space in Miami. The multi-disciplinary space is dedicated to motion picture, including video art exhibitions, film workshops and lectures, screenings and a space for filmmakers and video artists to work. TSR Miami is the recipient of the Knight Foundation Arts Challenge grant.

Mitrani is a filmmaker and video artist and is currently completing her master’s degree in Film. She wrote and directed SuperMarket, a short film inspired by her experiences with pregnancy. And her documentary film Cuba Mia premiered at the MJFF and aired on PBS.  She lives in Miami Beach with her husband and three children.

Dina Mitrani Gallery opened in 2008 and specializes in international contemporary photography. The gallery represents emerging and mid-career artists, and offers artists talks and lectures on photography as well as photo-based objects and books. The gallery is committed to promoting its artists, as well as working with other photography galleries, dealers and curators to bring unique fine art photography to Miami.  The gallery’s mission is not only to exhibit and sell photography but also to educate and be a resource for the art community.  The gallery has received accolades such as “Best Gallery Exhibition” by the Miami New Times. Dina lives in Miami with her two teenage daughters.
